Itinerary

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival (-/L/D)

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, meet by our representative and transfer to hotel for check-in. A short sightseeing tour of Ho Chi Minh City: Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Post Office and the People’s Committee Hall. Dinner will be served on Saigon River Cruise with entertainment show along Saigon River at the end of the day.
Meals included: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi - Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D)

After breakfast, a one and half hour drive takes you to Cu Chi where human knowledge has been enriched by experiencing an web-like tunnels system of more than 200km in length which used to be the shelters of guerrillas during the war against American troops. Return to Ho Chi Minh City after lunch. Visit the War Remnants Museum, China Town & Thien Hau Temple.
Dinner & overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho (B/L/D)

After breakfast at hotel, depart for My Tho. On arrival, visit Vinh Trang Pagoda. Board a wooden motor boat (20 minutes) to Unicorn Island. On this boat along the river’s bank, you’ll be passing through natural creeks, interesting fisherman’s port, stilt houses (half on land, half on water). From there, we’ll take you to a bee farm where you have a chance to taste a tasteful cup of authentic honey tea. After that, we walk around quiet villages and watch the life of rural people in Mekong Delta. We are divided into many groups and get on small rowing boats. During this 15-minute trip, you’ll witness all kind of interesting transportation modes that local people use to move around.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon cruise a canal whose 2 long sides are orchards. After that, we cruise to a village where the sweat smell of coconut candies is in the air. To satisfy your curiosity, we’ll get to a village that has many small shops that make coconut candy and handcrafted items from coconut trees of Mekong Delta. You might learn that those people can amazingly make dozens of useful products out of coconut trees. It is indeed inseparable from the villagers’ life. Visit an orchard that has many different types of tasty tropical fruits for your enjoyment. You can enjoy the fruits for free while checking out the folk music that is typical to only the people in Southern Vietnam.
Proceed to Can Tho.
Dinner & overnight in Can Tho.

Day 4: Can Tho - Cai Rang Floating Market - Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D)

After breakfast, around 6:45 am, we board a boat and travel for about 40 minutes to visit Cai Rang floating market. This is the largest of its type in the whole Mekong delta. After that, we continue on our riverine route for 5-7 minutes and then on foot for about 5 minutes to reach a noodle and a rice paper factory. The next stop is a rice processing factory where you’ll learn the many steps that transform “rice with a brown cover” to the delicious and beautiful rice grain that we consume daily.
The time now should be around 12 noon. Time for lunch! Let’s go back to Can Tho for that.
Lunch at local restaurant. Then drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Dinner & overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh City Departure (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel.
Free until transfer to airport for the flight back home.
Meals included: Breakfast only.

My husband and I went on a day tour with Huy as our tour guide to the Mekong Delta. Huy knew a lot of things and answered all our questions. What I liked the most about this tour is that we visited a lot of local restaurants and handcrafts and were able to see how people live and work in the region. Totally recommend the tour if you want to have a great Vietnam experience!

I loved this tour! And the guide Mr. T was so knowledgeable and kind, always smiling and funny! It was always my dream to be a on rowing boat on the Mekong River with the typical Vietnamese hat, and with the rain, it was such an experience! I will never forget it. Thank you again Mr. T!

Our guide, Moon, was excellent and provided us with a lot of interesting historical information about this amazing and sad period in Vietnam’s history. Experiencing firsthand the tunnels and imagining the challenges and difficulties faced by both sides in this horrific war.

The company provided a first-class service and taking the boat was so much interesting.

We got a chance to tried lots of traditional fruits in Vietnam which made me very impressed. In my country, I have to pay lots of money for the fruit but in Vietnam, the price is very reasonable also the taste was fantastic!

We had a pleasant trip to the Mekong Delta with Minh, our lovely tour guide. He brought us to My Tho where we took a boat to our first stop. There, we learned about bees and the different products they make. Then, we were welcomed by the world heritage traditional Vietnamese amateur music group. We then took a hand-rowboat to the coconut station where coconut candies are made and sold. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to take a day off the bustling city and experience the peaceful life by the Mekong Delta.
