1st Day – Yangon arrival and sightseeing

A guide will meet you at the airport to help you transfer to your hotel smoothly in downtown Yangon. On the way, you will have an opportunity to visit the Lawkachanthar Abayalarba muni Buddha image, also called the Kyauktawgyi. This stunning image is awe inspiring, and sure to grab your attention. Following that, the tour will offer a view of the scenery around China town- something that should easily wipe away any jet lag with excitement for such a glorious experience. A short walk around the area will let you experience the good-nature of the people there, and see the hustle and bustle of the local fruit markets. This also gives you a chance to visit the Sule Pagoda in the center of the city. Within, the Reclining Buddha awaits a chance to be a beautiful photo opportunity.

2nd Day – Yangon and Bagan (B)

In this day, an early morning start returns to the airport to fly to nearby Bagan. Once there, several sightseeing spots await you. The vibrant and colorful Nyaung U Market filled with life and activity, the Shwezigon Pagoda for the stunning golden stupa atop it, the Htilominlo Temple filled with stunning fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations, or even the Gubyaukgyi Temple where you will find breathtaking murals of jataka scenes. Later, the tour will visit the Myinkaba village and see a traditional process of Lacquerware on some of the area’s most famous handicrafts. Ananda temple is also going to stun you with the early-style temple using four impressive standing Buddha images in the architecture. After that, the Thabinnyu Temple is the highest temple in Bagan, with the Dhammayangyi Temple later with remarkable brickwork that has lasted beautifully. As the day ends, the tour will give magnificent views of the sunset from the upper terrace of the Shwesandaw Pagoda before spending the night in Bagan.

3rd Day – Bagan, Mandalay, Amarapura, and Mandalay again (B)

Again, the early day involves a visit to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, the tour will drive to Amarapura to see the Mahagandayon Monastery. Hundreds of novice young studying Buddhists are following the strikingly strict rules and regulations of the Monastery. Following the edicts of Buddha, these novices are working on beginning their journey and their dedication is inspiring. From there, the tour heads to a beautiful long wooden bridge called the U Bein Bridge that stands tall over a picturesque view in all directions. The bridge will help you reach Mandalay for a full day of sightseeing. Sights to visit include the Mahamuni Pagoda, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda that houses a large Buddha image carved from a single block of marble, the Shwenandaw Monastery called the Golden Palace and well known for exquisite wood carvings. The Kuthodaw Pagoda is known as the world’s biggest book for its pages made of stone slabs covered in beautiful Buddhist scriptures. The Sulamani Pagoda offers a traditional view of a beautiful temple. The Mandalay Palace is also slated for a stop, and in the evening you can enjoy a breathtaking sunset from Mandalay hill before an overnight stay in the city.

4th Day – Mandalay, Mingun, Sagaing, and back to Mandalay (B)

After a chance to enjoy breakfast at the hotel, the group will depart Mandalay via a private boat on the Ayeryarwaddy River en route to Mingun. The sights are all around you and beautiful as you approach the village on the west bank. From there, the tour leads you to the Settawaya Pagoda, Mingun Pahtotawgyi, and a world renowned ringing Mingun Bell and Myatheintan Pagoda. This massive bell is awe-inspiring, and has been the heaviest functioning bell multiple times throughout history. In the afternoon, the tour takes a sightseeing drive through Sagaing Hill- quite possibly the living center of the Buddhist faith in Myanmar. This cultural center will offer you unique insight into the faith, and those all around you. All around the area, hillsides are dotted with Pagodas and Monasteries overlooking this vital spot. The group continues through to visit Khaungmudaw Pagoda where you can rest for a short time before enjoying the sunset from Sagaing hill. From there, you will return to Mandalay for an overnight stop.

5th Day – Mandalay, Heho, Inle Lake (B)

As your day begins, you will transfer to the airport and fly to Heho. Once you land, the group heady by car to Inle Lake to begin sightseeing by boat. The lake offers several unique sights like the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the home to five small golden gilded Buddhas made priceless in both art and gold. Also there are the Floating Gardens and Stilt House villages. The locals are about in unique methods such as leg-rowing boats, and using traditional fishing methods and silk weaving all on the water. Another point of interest is the Nge Pe Chaung (Jamping Cat) Monastery. The tour day ends by spending the night at the Inle lake area.

6th day – Inle Lake, Yangon (B)

Following breakfast, the group will take a transfer boat to Nyaung Shwe and then drive to Heho for the flight back to Yangon. Aside from travel, the majority of the day is devoted to leisure and exploring at your own pace before one last night in Yangon.

7th Day – Yangon and departure (B)

The hotel hosts your breakfast, and then the tour allows for some morning shopping at Treasure, Gems, and Handicraft shops. Here you can examine the local wares and choose a variety of souvenirs. Afterward, our staff will help you transfer back to the airport for your return home.
