Cathedral Mountain – An Awe-Inspiring Architectural Wonder

For over 80 years, Cathedral Mountain has been a steadfast presence in Nha Trang. From a distance, its appearance is reminiscent of an ancient Roman castle. Located on the top of the hill, the cathedral, with its ash-gray exterior, remains steadfast against time.

The overall structure of Cathedral Mountain in Nha Trang is sturdy, built with several small stone blocks. The bell tower, located 38 meters above ground level, is the highest point of the church, with a Holy Cross on the top.

The Mysterious Bell Tower

Approaching the stone church, tourists will see the impressive architecture that is divided into three distinct parts:

  • The upper part is the corridor area and two bell towers;
  • The middle part consists of brightly colored glass windows with floral decorations on the doors. It is also where Catholic ceremonies are held for the parishioners;
  • The top floor is the entrance and exit.

The bell tower houses two bronze bells manufactured by the renowned French bell factory, Bourdon Carillond. In addition, the tower features four large clocks facing in four directions, providing timekeeping convenience for the people of Nha Trang. They need only gaze upward at Cathedral Mountain to know the time of day.
